Orpheus choir celebrates 40th anniversary with concert

The Cannock Chase Orpheus Male Choir is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a concert next month.

The special event on October 11 will be held a Cannock Chase Technical College at 7pm.

Soloists will be soprano Debbie Bennett and baritone Paul Ford.

Doug Parker will compere for the evening.

The fifty strong choir, led by Musical Director Alan Jones, deputy conductor Frank Morris and accompanist Pauline Pritchards, is regarded as one of the foremost choirs of its type in the Midlands.

Ray Brown, publicity officer for the choir, said: "This is an important milestone in our history and it is a great pleasure to return to the technical college after a three-year absence to present this concert to our supporters."

Tickets for the evening are priced at £10 and are available from John Hitchen on 01922 416153.

Doors open at 6.30pm and the concert will start at seven.
