Cannock and Stafford AC’s Gemma Smith, making her debut for the England U20 team, won the triple jump at the Celtic Cup held in Cardiff on Sunday. In a close competition where all the athletes were down on the previous week’s efforts, Smith confirmed the National Championship form by beating C King, of Ireland, into second place with a jump of 11.77m.
