Backing is appreciated

Sir

Trinity Pop-in celebrates its seventh anniversary soon.

It is based at Trinity Church, Hednesford, and is open most Thursdays during the year between 11am and 2pm. Trinity Pop-in caters for all, from toddlers to senior citizens. Drinks are provided throughout the opening time (hot and cold) and at noon, a two-course meal is served.

Trinity Pop-in serves a wide community of people coming from as far away as Bloxwich. There is no charge whatsoever. It exists with some support from Trinity Church itself but mainly by donations made on the day and the generosity of people and businesses in Hednesford.

Just to mention a few recent donations: India Red provided a wonderful curry; Nisa (post office shop) has offered cleaning materials; also a generous cash gift has been made by staff of the International Aid shop in Hednesford. Tennants Craft Bakery has supported Pop-in in the past and has again offered support in the future.

Staffordshire County Council has supported Trinity Pop-in through the auspices of Councillors John O’Leary and Sue Woodward and some years ago a grant was received from Cannock Chase chairman.

Finally I would like to thank the staff of Mid Counties Co-op in Hednesford who gave me a telephone number to contact where a grant of up to £500 may be available.

In the current economic climate, people are struggling to meet their daily needs (ie food, warmth etc) but for at least one day a week through the kindness of individuals, businesses and organisations, these needs can be met.

Terry Leese

Secretary of Trinity Pop-in
