A Burntwood man is warning local folk to be on their guard against a bogus lottery scam.
George Mulvihill, aged 64, from Robinson Road, received notification from a 'Spanish lottery company' Bono Loto Loteria congratulating him on winning 785,510 Euros.
The letter, supposedly from Madrid, said someone had entered the numbers for him.
But George said the letter, which asked for authorisation to his bank account and for a signature, was not even of good quality.
"It looks like a photostat," he told The Post. "It's not even well done. You can't even read some of it."
George is urging local folk to ignore the letter if they receive it.
"I feel sorry for old people who will be thinking they have got all this money," he added.
