Financial advice at Burntwood church

A brand new free financial debt advice centre has been launched - from a Chase Terrace church.

The Emmanuel Church is hosting the advice sessions on Fridays from 9.30am-1pm.

With unemployment soaring and more and more people facing financial difficulties, the service is providing advice - and a chat and a cuppa.

It is run by Debt and Property Solutions Plus.

Pastor Rod Lewis, from the church, said: “It is great that we can offer this free service and we are privileged that our local church should be at the heart of God’s work and help meet people’s practical needs by helping them with their debts.

“Debt and Property Solutions Plus offers a personalised, totally confidential opportunity for the local community to address any financial concerns, however big or small.”

The drop-in centre will allow people to either call in and discuss the situation or arrange a home visit outside of the centre times.

The aim is ‘to help people become debt free as fast as possible and help people facing repossession to keep their home’.
